FROM
MARGRET 3/14/08
Legend has it, my birth mother was a beautiful Samoyed living in upstate New York. She went into heat and escaped from the yard coming back 3 days later pregnant. She had 8 puppy's each one looked different. When her owners sister came to visit with her husband and children they feel in love with me and brought me home to a suburb of New York City. I was a headstrong puppy and the family did not understand me so I was beaten regularly and chased around by the little boy and his friends with a baseball bat. Because I was not good in the house they kept me in the back yard while the family went to work and school. I would cry and yelp and my mommy now, whose best friend lived right next door would hear about how I was being treated. She did rescue so one day she came over and got me and took me back to her home in Manhattan where we still live today with my 2 brothers Hershey the dalmation and Bonsai who is a lab/chow mix. 4 cats, Ube, Isabella, Puppy and SweetPea and my sister bird who also has cancer. I love them very much and am so happy in my life, I love mommy most of all. I love everyone and always have a wagging tail in greeting. It seems its my aim in life to make people smile and they do seeing me on the street I am always ready for a meet and greet and a pat on the head. Now mommy has had a difficult time first
there was my diagnosis. I started to limp at the end
of January '08, and my mommy took me to the veterinarian when the
limp was getting worse not better. She learned the
terrible news that I had osteosarcoma (bone cancer) on the upper
part of my left front leg. The vet says my lungs and other
organs are clear right now but that this is a highly aggressive kind of
cancer and my leg and shoulder had to be amputated immediately. I
had the surgery on January 17, 2008 and started my
first session of chemotherapy on February 3.
Mommy borrowed all she could out of her 401K for care of me which covered my surgery and the first chemo treatment. February 7th mommy lost her job of 21 years and she is desperate to get the funds together for the rest of my treatments. A few weeks ago an angel named Blake with her doggy angel child Kirby, found out about our plight and emailed mommy about The Magic Bullet Fund. Mommy applied and we have now been excepted and we are so excited and happy to be here with all of you. Please help me to help my mommy so I can have a chance to die of old age instead of cancer. We were so so sorry to hear about
Kirby's passing and send kisses and hugs because we would not be here
if it was not for Kirby and Blake.
